Working in digital can be both exhilarating and exhausting. We get to create, connect, and collaborate with incredible people and causes – but we also spend a lot of time indoors, at desks, in front of glowing screens. At Pooka, we know that creativity thrives best when our minds (and bodies) are well looked after.
So, we asked our team to share one small thing that helps them stay balanced in the busy digital world.
Marcus: Movement and Mindfulness
“Over twenty years ago, I stumbled into yoga and meditation, and now I can’t imagine my life without them. Running a busy digital agency means my days can easily dissolve into pixels and too much sitting. My practice keeps me balanced, sharper, calmer, and more creative. When I skip it, I feel it instantly. It’s my daily reboot.”

Paul: Sweat and Sound
“I’m at my best when I can get to the gym two or three times a week. It’s not always easy with young kids and a full schedule, but the mental benefits are enormous. And music has always been a big part of my life. I play in a punk band with our colleague Mads. It’s loud, messy, and joyful. It’s the creative outlet that balances out the structured creativity of web projects.”

Sian: Sunshine and Stillness
“When your day involves managing social media for multiple organisations, it can feel like your brain never really switches off. The best cure for me is getting outdoor: running, walking, watching the dogs play, feeling the weather on my face. It pulls me out of the digital world and back into the real one.”

There’s no single recipe for balance – but we all need something that helps us step away, reset, and come back ready to create.
At Pooka, we believe in putting humans first. Behind every pixel, post, and project, there’s a person, and looking after those people matters most. 🐇💛
