Introducing ‘Pooka AI’ for WordPress

There is a particular kind of quiet that accompanies a blank screen and a blinking cursor. You have an important message to share – a new community initiative, a campaign update, or a story of real impact – but the words just won’t quite click into place. The kettle has been boiled – twice. You’ve checked your emails three times. And that blank page is still staring back at you.
We’ve all been there. For the communications teams and charity directors we work alongside, time is usually in short supply, and finding the right words can sometimes feel like climbing a hill at the end of a very long week.
That is why we have been quietly working on something behind the scenes to help ease that very modern burden. We are introducing Pooka AI, a new set of tools built directly into WordPress, designed to help our clients with those first steps towards creating and polishing content – that sounds like them.
Because we believe deeply in the human touch, we want to be clear right from the start: this isn’t about replacing human writers. It is about providing a helpful digital leg-up when you need it most.
How Pooka AI works (and only if you want it to)
First things first: Pooka AI is entirely optional. It won’t be forced onto anyone’s dashboard. If you prefer to do things the traditional way, your WordPress setup remains exactly as it is.
But if you decide to enable it, Pooka AI starts by getting to know you. Before it writes a single word, it will ask for a little background on your organisation – your mission, your vision, your core values, the services you provide, and your tone of voice. It takes the time to understand what matters to you.
Once it has this context, you’ll notice a new addition when you sit down to write a new Page or Blog Post: a magical little button that reads “Generate First Draft”.
Curing Blank Page Syndrome
When you click that button, you can give the tool a brief prompt about the topic you want to cover or a few key points you need to hit. Pooka AI will then go away, do a bit of research, and return with a written draft.
Because it already knows your organisation’s values and tone, the draft won’t read like generic, robotic filler. It will be rooted in your specific context, sounding remarkably close to home.
A Starting Point, Not a Destination
We are, and always will be, advocates for human-made content. Pooka AI is not designed to write your final, published piece. We named the button “Generate First Draft” quite deliberately. It is a starting point – a way to banish the blank page so that you have something solid to mold, refine, and inject with your own unique personality and lived experience.
It is, quite simply, a tool to do the heavy lifting of structure and initial phrasing, leaving you with the time and energy to add the empathy, nuance, and charm that only a human can provide.
As a quick demonstration of the tool’s efficiency, the initial draft of the very article you are reading was generated using the Pooka AI “Generate First Draft” feature. It took roughly 10 minutes to write the 200-word prompt needed to create the content, followed by about 30 minutes of refining the output to ensure it matched our voice and specific messaging. The Pooka AI Summary Block
Beyond banishing the blank page, we also want to help readers who are short on time. That’s why we’ve also introduced the Pooka AI Summary Block. This handy tool is designed for taking an existing Post or Page and drawing the essence from it. It produces a list of key takeaways from the article as bullet points, formatted up as a convenient WordPress block that can then be further edited. This is great if you want to supply a short synopsis of a longer article for readers who don’t have the time to digest the full article.
Future Tools and Client Access
We are committed to making life easier for our clients, and Pooka AI will continue to grow. Pooka & Co plan to introduce further tools in the future, including features for optimising content for keywords and phrases for SEO, or refining existing content.
For now, existing clients can request to sign up with and trial Pooka AI, and we would value their feedback. With feedback implemented, Pooka & Co will then more actively raise awareness of Pooka AI.
